Categories and tags may be added throughout your Squarespace website and can enable visitors to find topics they are most interested. Each store and blog may include categories or tags to organize information.

Using Categories vs. Tags

Categories are used to organize content by subject or type, this can be very broad. Tags can be more specific.

In Version 7.1 of Squarespace Categories and Tags can be used in collection pages:

  • Blog Posts

  • Events

  • Products

Formatting Tips for Categories and Tags:

  • Categories may only have 25 or fewer characters.

  • Tags may only have 80 or fewer characters.

  • Both are case sensitive.

  • You can add as many categories or tags as you like to each section.
