Squarespace Marketing Basics: Announcement Bar
Updated November 5, 2023 to reflect changes in the Home Menu.
An announcement bar appears at the top of every page on your website. This bar can be used to create a customized message on your website.
The Announcement Bar allows you to:
Welcome visitors to your website.
Advertise a sale or promotion.
Have visitors click through pages on your website.
Share a change in hours.
Include any important news.
The Announcement Bar is visible to both mobile and desktop websites.
Create an Announcement Bar
Home Menu > Marketing > Marketing Tools > Announcement Bar
Click Enable Announcement Bar. If ever you want to disable to Announcement Bar you can change this to Disable Announcement Bar.
Add text and format.
If you would like to make the Announcement Bar clickable add a URL.
Customize the Announcement Bar
Site Styles (Upper right hand corner of website - paint brush icon > Fonts > Global Text Styles > Assign Styles > Announcement Bar
You can customize the text style and size.
Visitors to your website may turn off the Announcement Bar by clicking the X in the upper right-hand corner.
