It’s all about the branding!
This is very important for all websites! Displaying your name and/or logo is all part of your business. You want the visitor to your website to know the name of your business and visually see a logo and the colors of your business.
So, what is branding? It’s a name, term, symbols and/or color that identify your business to your customers.
This is my business name and logo.
Have you ever driven down the road and see symbol and know the name of the business? Do you look at colors and know what the business name is without seeing it? Well, that’s great marketing.
When a visitor comes to your website the first thing they want to see is that name of your business. The header section of the website is a great place to keep all of your business or organization information that is the most important for a client to see. Look at a recent blog I wrote about the information to display in the header of a website: Website Basics: Website Header.
Let’s talk about the website title and logo in Squarespace.
Select any page to edit the header of your website, select Edit Site Header.
Select Site Title & Logo
Make sure the website title is the proper name of your business. This will make it easy for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which maximizes the number of visitors to your website. Search Engines only use site title so even if you add a logo make sure to also add a site title.
Add a Logo Image. FYI - when added the logo will replace the website title on the header of the page. I was able to find a workaround for this with one website I created. Take a look at the website: NFF Baltimore. I added the National Football Foundation logo into word and wrote the name and chapter. I took a screen shot and there is the logo I added into Squarespace. Now you see the logo and important names.
You can also add a Mobile Logo Image. You can upload an image here for mobile devices. Not to worry, if this is left empty it will default to the regular Logo Image.
Make sure that when a visitor comes to your website that they identify your business or organization. Let them know who you are by what they see in your website. Good Luck! Let me know what you think.
