Imagine. Innovate. Invigorate.
After I decided to start my own website design business it was very important to come up with a name for the business. I enlisted the help of my very supportive family. We talked about my goals for the business, who I was hoping to help and what I was doing. From there many names were brought up. Nothing sounded right to me. So, I decided that going with a simple name and adding a tagline that could be later changed if I needed was the best way to go.
So that’s how my tagline was created. Many words were thrown around, but those three words stuck with me, and I couldn’t just use one in the name. So I decided I would simply call the new business, May Web Design, and change the tagline as needed, if needed. For business purposes the true name is: May Web Design, LLC.
So, what’s so important about those three little words in my tagline?
Imagine - What do you want from YOUR website? Do you need a new website or a refresh for an existing website?
Dictionary.com defines Imagine as to “form a mental image or concept of.” I want my client to tell me how they want to portray their business online and what they want the website to do for them and their small business or nonprofit organization. It’s important for the client to decide everything from the content included on the website to the colors of their website. Whatever the client can envision I try to make happen.
2. Innovate - Turn YOUR vision into reality.
Dictionary.com defines Innovate as “to introduce something new; make changes in anything established.” This could mean updating a website that is older or creating a whole new website. Your website should be constantly changing so that it is all updated and new information is added often. Make sure to change wording and pictures. As your business or nonprofit organization changes make sure to apply all of those changes to the website, as well.
3. Invigorate - Give new energy to your dreams.
Dictionary.com defines Invigorate as “to give vigor to; fill with life and energy; energize..” Make sure the words and pictures on your website are not out of date and stale. Let the visitor to your website know that you value them and their interest by guiding them through a professional website that meets their needs. Give the website an energy with colors, pictures and/or videos to show the visitor.
Always remember - this is your website for your visitors. The most important thing to remember - websites can be changed. Maybe something that you thought would be important is not anymore or your business/organization has changed. Make sure to design a website and keep it up-to-date, fresh, and new.
