Squarespace Marketing Basics: Promotional Pop-Up

Promotional pop-ups are a fantastic way to highlight essential information for you to share with visitors to your website. A Promotional Pop-Up appears when a visitor lands on your website page that you have enabled with a pop-up.  

Promotional Pop-Ups allow you to: 

• advertise a sale. 

• have visitors click through to join your mailing list. 

• share a new product or blog post. 

• have visitors verify age. 

• allow visitor to choose between two different languages to display website. 

Before creating a pop-up please note: 

• Only one pop-up at a time can be enabled for your website. If you would like to add further information you can add an Announcement Bar that appears at the top of your website. 

• You can use the Squarespace App to create and edit pop-ups.  

• Not all layouts support background images so if this is important to your pop-up chose an appropriate pop-up. 

Creating a Promotional Pop-Up 

Home Menu > Marketing > Marketing Tools > Promotional Pop-Up 

Change Layout  

• This is where you chose which layout works best for the type of Pop-Up you would like to add. Hover over the layout and click select to view each pop-up layout. 

Action  

• In this area you can sign up for a newsletter or click a button. For the newsletter option you can chose your storage option for information collection. For the button option you can link the page for the button click through.  

Content 

• This is the area where you add text. You can add an eye-catching headline and then detailed information below. 

Display & Timing 

• Where and when customization for your pop-up occurs at this step. You have the ability to control on what page(s) the pop-up appears, the timing, and how often unique visitors will see the pop-up. 

• Style 

• You have the ability to brand your pop-up. In the Style panel you can chose fonts, colors, and add animations. Note that in this section you can disable pop-ups for mobile devices and even style them differently for font and colors.  

Squarespace makes marketing your information look professional but is so easy to use and change.
