This is a blog I have updated each year. Having a nonprofit organization website is very important. It could be as simple as a landing page to let people know who you are and what your organization does within the community or world.

It doesn’t matter if you are a new nonprofit organization, or you have been around for a while. Congratulations on both fronts. Having a place to call “home” online that you can update is great. Social media is nice to potential members but it’s nice to have a home base to house everything.

One of my first blogs was How do I get started with a website for a Nonprofit Organization in 2021. Last year I updated it with How do I get started with a website for NonProfit Organization in 2022 so now I’m going to copy some of this past information and build on it for the upcoming year.

I am honored to create a website for a small business or nonprofit organization. Speaking to so many people that are so passionate about their work is amazing in and of itself. Helping them to create a website that will be able to change and grow with them is something I love to do.

The last few years have been long and consist of uncertain times in the US and around the world. Having a website for your nonprofit is key to getting your information displayed on a larger platform. Many nonprofit organizations only use Facebook or other social media to advertise upcoming events. That is great for getting the word out about upcoming events but do not forget to highlight the good that you have done in your area and around the world.

Unfortunately, most nonprofit organizations are so busy with their cause that they do not highlight the good that they have done throughout the community. The Oxford Dictionaries definition of a volunteer is “a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task.” In plain English, the volunteers are giving their time for free so the funds of the organization can serve the cause of the organization. Many times, these people are spread thin. 

By simply updating a website with recent pictures of events and adding to current and upcoming events could help people find out what you have done and what you will do in the future. If they see pictures, it will be easier to tell them and virtually show them what they could expect if they too were part of your group.

  A website is a wonderful place to keep current and past information: 

·       Showcase the good that is done in the community. 

·       Push information to social media.  

·       Collect names for a mailing list. 

·       Add a Donate button for your cause. 

  Creating a website lets your nonprofit organization welcome people to your organization 24/7.  

·       Build a homepage to welcome current and potential members. 

·       Include pictures of your cause and events. 

·       Build a contact list for newsletters. 

·       Link to your social media sites.
