The most important part of my business.
Teaching clients how to use their websites.
Designing a website is important but keeping it new and vibrant is important, as well.
When putting a website together it is important to have the right content, pictures, and videos. In this ever-changing world it is especially important to keep this information updated. My business website changes weekly as I am always rethinking how to share information and what pictures to use.
I meet with my clients to discuss their website before the start of the project. Once I have their content, pictures, and videos I design the website that they want. Once the client reviews the website and I make any necessary changes the most important part of the project begins - teaching the client how to make their own updates and changes.
The last step of my website design process is to teach the client how to use their website. This last meeting is particularly beneficial:
An agenda is sent beforehand, so the client knows what we are doing.
We will have a video conference where I can show the client how to make the updates for their website.
Updating mostly includes adding pictures, videos, and text to keep your website looking fresh and new.
More than just showing my clients how and what to do to update their website I ask them to share their screen and practice making updates.
Squarespace offers support going forward for the client. I teach them how to access the Squarespace Help and use the online customer support.
Following the meeting I will email the client detailed information as to what updates are most important on their customized website.
Squarespace has great customer support. Squarespace Help has informative knowledge-based answers, videos, and webinars to answer your questions. This is a great starting point when there is a question. Email support is available 24/7 and the chat function operates Monday-Friday (check the website for exact times as they change with different holidays.)
May Web Design, LLC is always available for customized packages including maintenance and special projects. As the client begins to use the website and watches as the organization or business grows there may need to be changes to the website and updating that goes beyond the general updates. A quick call to May Web Design, LLC to explain the change is all that is needed to give you an estimate and continue your project.
