Prepare your discounts and sales for 2022

2021 is almost over and you need to prepare your commerce business for 2022. Squarespace has the tools to help you plan for sales and discounts in advance.

Setting up Discounts

I wrote a blog outlining how to add discounts to your website Squarespace Basics: Commerce|Online Shopping Discounts. Discounts can be created and scheduled. Plan your discounts and set them up ahead of time if possible.

Setting up Sale Prices

Review your inventory in advance and decide on sale prices.

Home Menu/Commerce/Inventory

Click on your inventory item and scroll down to Inventory/Price. There is a toggle for On Sale. Click the toggle and Sale Price line item appears below. Add a sales price and the Price will have a strike through line.

Click the toggle again and the Sale Price disappears. The sales price remains in the system so once the toggle is clicked again the sales price will appear.

By adding the sales price ahead of time, a quick click of the toggle with have the sale begin.

Announcing your Sale

Make sure to use the Promotional Pop Up and/or Announcement Bar to announce your sale or discount as your visitor enters the website.

Squarespace Marketing Basics: Promotional Pop-Up

Promotional pop-ups are a fantastic way to highlight essential information for you to share with visitors to your website. A Promotional Pop-Up appears when a visitor lands on your website page that you have enabled with a pop-up.

Squarespace Marketing Basics: Announcement Bar

An announcement bar appears at the top of every page on your website. This bar can be used to create a customized message on your website.

Taking the time to set up discounts and sales ahead of time will allow your business to run smoothly when a sale or discount begins. Good Luck!

May Web Design, LLC refreshes and creates affordable websites that enable clients to take ownership and update themselves on a Squarespace platform. I enjoy helping clients increase customer engagement with a website and improve their overall web presence. The most important part of my business is that when I have completed and reviewed the website with a client, I teach the client how to update their website so that they can keep it fresh and new. A website offers a 24/7 welcome to prospective members, showing them what your business or organization has accomplished and what you plan to do. If built correctly it should welcome people to the site and show them around in a comfortable way.

If you are interested in discussing the needs of a website for your business or nonprofit organization, contact May Web Design, LLC. Starting out with a basic brochure website may be all that your business or organization needs. Your website should grow with you and change as needed.
